Privacy Policy

Effective 20 July 2026

Lucid Camera is a manual camera that runs entirely on your iPhone. It has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics — so there is almost nothing to say here, and that is the point.

The whole policy, honestly

Lucid Camera collects nothing. No analytics, no accounts, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, no servers. Your photos, videos and settings never leave your device except where you choose to put them.

01

What the app accesses, and why

Every permission Lucid requests is used on your device, in the moment, for a feature you can see:

  • Camera — to show the live viewfinder and capture photos and video. Frames are processed on-device only, and are never uploaded anywhere.
  • Photo Library — to save your captures and to show your most recent shot as a thumbnail and in the review screen. Lucid reads only the assets it needs for that.
  • Microphone — requested only the first time you enter Video mode, so your recordings have sound. It is released again when you return to Photo mode. Photo-only users are never asked.
  • Location — optional and off by default. See Location below.
  • Motion sensors — optional, for the horizon level indicator. Motion readings are used in the moment and never stored.
02

What we store

Your preferences — capture format, resolution, aspect ratio, grid and assist toggles, saved profiles, imported Looks (LUTs), and your trial start date — are stored in the app's local storage on your device. They sync nowhere and are visible to no one. Deleting the app deletes them.

03

Your photos & videos

Everything you capture is written to your Photos library through Apple's standard system. Lucid keeps no separate copy, no cloud gallery, and no record of what you shoot. Your images are yours; where they go from there is entirely up to you and iOS.

04

Location

Location is off by default. If — and only if — you turn on Location Tags in Settings, Lucid will stamp your most recent GPS fix into the metadata of the photos you save, exactly like the stock Camera app. That location lives inside your own saved file, on your device. It is never sent to us or anyone else.

If you deny or revoke location permission, the toggle turns itself back off and no location is written.

05

Purchases

Lucid is free for a 7-day trial, then a single one-time purchase unlocks it forever. That purchase — and Restore Purchase — is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see your name, card, or payment details. Receipts are validated on-device.

06

Analytics & tracking

There are none. The app makes no network requests of its own, contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites. Our App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected” because that is literally how the app is built.

07

Children

Lucid Camera doesn't collect data from anyone — including children — because it doesn't collect data at all.

08

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Given the app has no data pipeline, don't expect much.
